The first soap makers were the Babylonians, Mesopotamians, Egyptians and the ancient Greeks and Romans.

There is evidence that the ancient Babylonians were making soap around 2800 B.C. They were probably the first to master the art of soap making, and since then, over the course of thousands of years, soap has infused itself into our culture and way of life. As one of the most primary means of maintaining personal hygiene, soap has developed through countless waves of improvement that have transformed it into its modern state.
