When the Sun enters Sagittarius Nature has gone into Winter mode. During the run-up to Christmas there are numerous parties to attend, to celebrate the end of the year with a bit of Winter cheer. It a good time to pack the bags and take off on a tropical vacation, or at least get cosy by the fire and do some armchair travelling. Sagittarius is a party animal who likes to 'see and be seen'. He seeks out social gatherings to find a willing audience for his lectures or latest enthusiasms. Sagittarius is always in hot pursuit of something- a deal, a project or a dragon to slay. But his passions don't last long, just until the next best thing appears on the horizon. He is an optimist and if things don't work out this time around, well, there is always another opportunity. Sagittarius philosophy is - it is better to set the aim high and miss the goal than never to shoot the arrow at all. He is inquisitive and always ready for an adventure, at least in theory. Sometimes he is more of an armchair traveller who derives his thrills from adventure fantasies. But those that do travel regard it as a quest, a way of expanding their inner and outer horizons, Some prefer travel of the mind and take up the study of philosophy, religion, law, ethics, metaphysics or spirituality. Teaching is the perfect way to pass on their knowledge and kindle passion and enthusiasms in those that share their interests. Sagittarius finds it hard to get settled and gets depressed when there is no excitement around. The danger is that he will end up in perpetual pursuit and never achieve anything or be satisfied with anything, because the grass will always be greener on the other side.
Candles can be burnt to create a special ambience at any time, though their soft light is particularly conducive for romantic occasions. Candles are widely used for spiritual and magical work. Ritualistic candle burning aids concentration on a specific magical intent. As you focus on the flame visualize your intentions being consumed and transformed into ethereal thought forms. Energy follows thought. To turn your dreams, wishes and visualizations into realities, follow thought with action, charged with the cosmic energy of the sacred fire.
To ensure best results and minimise any possible dangers, please take heed of the following precautions: Burn candles for one hour per inch of diameter to ensure even burning. The wax needs time to warm up and melt. Burning the candle for less than the recommended time will usually result in a hole burning down the middle of the candle and the wick will eventually drown. Keep the wick trimmed to about ¼ inch to reduce smokiness and dripping. Always burn candles on suitable surfaces, preferably fire-proof dishes or candleholders, which will also catch any dripping wax. Don't expose lit candles to draughts as this results in uneven burning an excessive drippiness. Keep candles out of sunlight to preserve their colours. Use your common sense when playing with fire. Keep candles out of reach of children and animals.
