Extracted by steam distillation from the leaves of a tree older than 5 years
Sweet, fresh, spicy scent
Deep yellow colour

 Properties:

Medium to watery viscosity
Scent is strong, spicy, medicinal and herbaceous

 Uses:

  • Calming and warming
  • Good for aches and pains in general, as well as rheumatism
  • Settling effect on the digestive system
  • Cuts down excess gas
  • Tonic effect on liver and kidneys
  • Stimulating effect when used in small amounts
  • Sedating effect when used in larger amounts
  • Good for hair or scalp conditions, including hair loss
  • For strains, sprains and bruises
  • Can promote insight, confidence and courage

 Other applications:

Used in hair and scalp tonics, and in body rubs for colds and for easing painful muscles.

 Warnings:

  • Should be used with caution on the skin as it may irritate (due to eugenol content)
